The Heart of Millie's

At Millie’s, our team is more than staff — we’re family. Rooted in the easygoing, welcoming spirit of Nantucket, our people are deeply connected by shared values, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for hospitality. Millie’s Madaket first opened in 2010, founded by Robert “Bo” Blair and David Scribner as a tribute to their summers spent working and living on the island. Seventeen years later, Millie’s has grown into a beloved Nantucket staple, expanding across the island and into Washington, DC — but no matter the location or team, the heart of Millie’s remains the same.

Seaside State of Mind

At Millie's, our coastal fare and easygoing attitude honors the true spirit of summer. Whether on the island of Nantucket or the mainland in DC, Millie’s celebrates the best fare from both coasts. From New England style lobster rolls to California Baja-style fish tacos, the menu brings the vibes of a Nantucket dockside straight to your tableside. And just like the strong yet endearing personality of its namesake, “Madaket Millie” Jewett, our cocktails are sure to help you set sail into a seaside state of mind.

Our Namesake

Mildred Carpenter Jewett, lovingly known as ‘Madaket Millie’, was an island legend who spent her life caring for the beaches, the animals and the people of Madaket. Reserved, yet strong minded, Millie embodied the self-reliant spirit of native islanders. Millie patrolled the coastline and watched for shipwrecks, earning her the highest civilian rank from the US Coast Guard. She sold ice cream and greeted travelers from her yard on Hither Creek. We hope to carry on Millie’s commitment to and passion for Madaket by offering a gathering place for visitors - old and new - to experience this unique part of Nantucket.
